ALEX BEN MAYOR
Creative Engineer & Co-Producer

Alex has worked in a conglomerate of modes in the theatre and performance industry including as Animateur, Director, Writer, Performer, Producer and Dramaturge. This has also seen him shift working between mainstream, independent and experimental performance companies and festivals. Prior to working with Well as Creative Engineer and Co-producer, Alex was trained as a Dramaturge at the Malthouse Theatre, one of Australia’s leading contemporary theatre companies. Alex has performed in and created works for the Carnivale Festival, Darwin Fringe and International Festivals, and the Melbourne Fringe and International Arts Festivals. An ability to balance creative thinking with both practical and technical solutions has placed Alex in high demand for dramaturgical solutions at both direct artwork and at company level where he is involved at a variety of stages from work genesis and research to final presentation. A graduate of the Victorian College of the Arts in Animateuring (Theatre Making), training also includes a Bachelor in Creative Arts and diploma in the History and Philosophy of Science. In a less academic vein, Alex trained for 5 years in Japanese and European physical theatre styles, various martial arts and contemporary and classical dance.
